The King really is coming

Good morning,

I think that there is good reason for all the talk of what will happen in 2012.  People are instinctively aware that something big is about to happen.  The whole world is becoming more restless and fear driven but as yet there is no sharp focus on what is going on.  I believe that it won’t be long before the whole issue will become crystal clear.  Superstitious people are worried about the end of the Mayan calendar, the Arab based people are all excited about the coming of the 12th Imam and the politicians are all determined to stop our slide into disaster. But the Bible makes it clear that the real reason for all of this is that the King of heaven and earth is about to return.   Those of us who are citizens of heaven have a very different perspective on the tension.  The whole world is holding it’s breath for the coming of the rightful king to take his place and put an end to the swelling flood of evil that is desperately trying to stop his coming.  While the world trembles, we as God’s kids are  eagerly waiting for our beloved Savior to set us free from all that separates us from him.

Now we are weak physically, but soon we will be living in glorious eternal bodies that are copies of our Savior’s body.  Now we are seen as enemies of progress by the power brokers of our world, but soon we will be living as children of the King, with all his authority supporting us in our lives and ministries.  Now we are surrounded with temptations and trials, but soon we will be a part of the celebrating multitudes that will come under the protection and control of the Lord of all.  One of the reasons that the Lord has insisted that the Bible continue to be available to all of us is to give us the assurance that he has a perfect plan and when he is ready to act nothing will stop him from finishing what he started.  The world does its best to fill us with worries and fears, but the Bible is clear.  The King is coming.  He is almost here.  Never Give Up.  The celebration is about to begin.

Philippians 3:20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
