There is only one Judge

Good morning,

If God is so wise, why has he allowed the world to be such a chaotic place?  I think that the answer lies in understanding how we as human beings demonstrate what we really believe at the deepest level of our person.  We are all able to explain intellectually why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe, but since all of us are able to live in a dream world of our own making, there needs to be some test that will show us what is really true.  In some strange way, even the most evil people are able to see goodness in who they are and in what they are doing.  We who have trusted Jesus as our Savior talk about goodness, but those who hate us see our goodness as wicked madness.  It seems that the Devil is able to convince anyone who follows him that they are the ones who have really discovered the truth.  I think that what God has done in his wisdom is to allow the false assumptions of the ungodly to become a testing ground to show what is really in the heart of those who claim to be followers of the God of the Bible.

When we look at the outcome of how we live, it seems that those who follow the “truths” they have chosen come out ahead of those who keep living their lives by the rules that God has laid out in the Bible.  If success is the measure of what life is about, even Jesus failed miserably when he lived here 2000 years ago.  The missing piece of information in this whole puzzle is that while God has allowed us to believe whoever and whatever we want, there is only one Judge at the end of our earthly life who will approve or disapprove what we have said and done.  When we each stand before Jesus the Judge, he will be very clear in declaring lies as lies and evil people as evil people no matter how sure they were that they were right.  God has kept track of all of our words, and they will be the evidence at the heavenly court of what has really been in our hearts.  Those of us who have really given our hearts and minds to the Creator God will hear again the words that we said that will prove for eternity that our faith was in Jesus and not in some sort of lie.  But for those who believed the lies and created the chaos that we live in, they will hear again the words that will condemn them to an eternity of unending loss.

Matthew 12:35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
