Good morning,
The gift of perfect control

If we tell a lie enough times, can that change the lie into a truth?  If you ask the average person who lives around you about how our world was formed, what will they tell you?  Almost all of them will tell you one of the lies that Satan has taught the people on “his earth.”  The God who gave us his Bible tells us, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(Gen.1:1)  That is the real truth! When you ask people around you why there is so much fear and hate and confusion going on all around us, what will they tell you? All that  they know are the “truths” that God’s enemy has made up to blind and destroy them. God tells us why our leaders are so angry and are fighting all the time.  The real truth is, the rulers plot together against the LORD and against his anointed one. "Let us break their chains," they cry, "and free ourselves from slavery to God.”(Psalm.2:2,3) God’s real truth is, But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them.(v.5)

What Satan wants is to get as many people as possible to believe that this is “his world” and it is in his control.  The real truth of what God is doing is, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(Jn.3:16) The reason we are here is that God longs to give us eternal life if we believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord. God wants us, to understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him.(Eph.1:19)  Jesus, God’s Son, lived with us and died for us and rose again to be seated at God’s right hand.  Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else–not only in this world but also in the world to come.(v.21)  The real truth is that, God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.(v.22) Jesus is in perfect control of all those who put their trust in him and make up his Church for eternity.

The Lord has every right to laugh at his enemies who think that they will win this war in “God’s world.”  God’s response to those who insist on believing Satan’s lies is, Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.(Ps.2:5) Like it or not, God has planned every day of our lives(Ps.139:16) and when it has come to the end of time, he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power.(1Cor.15:24)  What the Lord longs for us to believe, and keep fresh in our minds, is that all things are under his control. Although Satan will do his best to get us to believe his lies and get us to be self focused.  Here on earth, Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet.(v.25) And for those of  us in God’s eternal family we will leave all this sin, fear, and hate behind and will reign with God forever.(2Tim.2:12)

Ephesians 1:22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.
