Good morning,
Thank you Father
This Sunday in America we have been celebrating Father’s Day. It’s been really encouraging to have people that you love, come up and say thank you for being their dad or for being their adopted father. What makes it even more exciting is that I have a human Father already in heaven and also have a heavenly Father who is Lord Of All. Those of us in God’s family know that we have a heavenly Father who had created our world and given each of us our life. Our Heavenly Father has planned each of our lives, knows everything about us in time and eternity, and loves us with His holy love. Our Heavenly Father is holy, and pure, and righteous and just in everything he thinks and does. Our Heavenly Father has loved us as sinners in need of a Savior and has sent his only begotten son to live with us as a human, to be tempted like we, to never sin like us and then go to a cruel cross in order to pay the price of all of our sins. Wow, what an awesome God and Father. Our Heavenly Father is always there with us, is always there to protect us, He always limits the trials and temptations we must go through, and He will also defeat our enemies with his perfect justice as his guide.
The more we think about our Heavenly Father, the more we realize that it will be impossible for us to be able to come to the end of the benefits that He gives us. It is good for us to spend some time thinking about what we have learned from our time in His family and then spend even more time telling him how much we love and appreciate our wonderful Heavenly Father. For instance, the Bible tells us,You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate.(Luke 6:36) We can then ask the Holy Spirit to show us in His Word what that means and then find ourselves living that way more and more each day. Another area of thanks comes when we find ourselves in need of physical or spiritual help. The Bible makes it clear that our Heavenly Father knows what we need and tells us that we should, Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.(Luke 12:31) Those of us who are concerned about ministry to those around us need to remember what Jesus told us, For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me — and Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.(John 6:14,15) When facing these challenges we can also celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit who comes into our hearts and minds to lead us into the truth that we need at that time. Remember when Jesus was praying to the Father on our behalf and he said, I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.(John 17:21) What a special honor that the Lord has given us that we should be considered one with our Father and one with our Savior and one with those around us who are all part of God’s eternal family. Thank you Father for all that you are and all that you have done and all that you will do for us, your children, though all the rest of time and eternity.
John 17:21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent
