Good morning,
For those of us who are citizens of Heaven, these are exciting times. The Bible makes it very clear that God has always been a part of all of time since it’s beginning. The Bible tells us how the Lord has guided those who trusted and followed him at every point in time. God’s prophets have also been allowed to give us little insights of the Lord’s bigger plans that stretch from the beginning of time to the end of time. The Bible is filled with prophecies that have been perfectly fulfilled and yet still many more that have yet to become part of his big plan. When Jesus left the disciples and disappeared into the clouds, he promised that he would be coming back again. As Paul put it, But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.(Phil.3:20) Now that the Jews have a country of their own again, Israel is a prophecy kept, we know that the next stage of history could be very close at hand. Our generation has watched the world as a whole has turned their backs on the God of Creation, and it’s exciting for us as citizens of heaven as we watch the Creator demonstrating his authority and power over those in rebellion to his rule.
The Bible is very clear that we will not know the day or hour of his return.(Mat. 24:36) It also tells us that we will not be able to clean things up when the time comes. It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown.(1Cor.15:52) Paul tells us even more when he wrote, For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.(1Thess.4:16,17) The world around us is falling into chaos as uncontrollable weather, cruel and destructive countries and hate filled peoples live in defiance to the Prince of Peace. Many of us who are God’s children find ourselves facing false accusations against us because we will not approve of their life styles. Our Enemy does his best to attack us with fear and tempt us with ungodly life styles, but the God who saved us will never leave or forsake us. So what are we supposed to be doing with all this confusion around us? Well for right now Peter tells us, And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight. And remember, our Lord's patience gives people time to be saved.(2Pet.3:14,15) Now it is our responsibility to wait in faith and serve with Spirit empowered lives until our work on earth is done. We also have the joy of looking ahead to what else he has promised is waiting for us when we finally get home. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
(Phil.3:21) Maybe we will see him yet today! Even so come, Lord Jesus.
Philippians 3:20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. 21 He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
