How God loved the world

Good morning,

Nothing has ever taken God by surprise.  When, in eternity past ,God the Father and Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit sat down to design our world, they built their plan around the perfect love of God.  Although already surrounded by a vast army of angels,(Job33:7) God planned another level of life that would be based on a chosen relationship with them that would then go on for the rest of eternity.  God already knew that Satan’s rebellion would come and that this rebellion would spread to some of the angels and later to all the humans that would be created in the image of God.(Genesis 1:26)  God decided that the test for the gift of an eternal life with them would be based on a chosen belief in the reality and love of the God that they could not see this side of eternity. The hardest part of this perfect plan came when They decided that someone would have to live a perfect life in a human body who would be willing to pay the price for the rebellion that would infect all those who would be born into this human race. They also knew that the human race would grow to billions of individuals that would all come along and face the decision of belief that they couldn’t make by themselves.

There in eternity the decision was made that Jesus would be the only one who could save the rebels that would be willing to turn from their sins and trust God for his gift of eternal life.  It was the Apostle John who was given the honor of writing out Their decision that gives all of us hope for an eternity with God.  He wrote, "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16) When Jesus was born as a human baby, he knew why he was there.  When Jesus grew up in a world full of sin and fear and hatred, he knew how to live a perfect life that was not controlled by any of the desires that came with a human body.  When Jesus was surrounded by enemies who hated him and followers who were self centered and confused, he never forgot why he was living there with them.  Again John tells us,God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.(v.17) When Jesus was betrayed, he kept moving ahead.  When Jesus was unjustly convicted of being a wicked man, he didn’t fight back.  When Jesus was nailed to a cruel cross, he thought of the whole human race when he cried out, Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.(Luke 23:34) He died alone that terrible day, but he was fully alive again three days later as proof that God’s perfect plan was working perfectly.  Thank you Father, thank you Lord Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit for your perfect plan to give any one of us your eternal life if we will just believe who you are and obey what you tell us do.  We love you, Lord!

John 3:16 "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
