Discovering real excitement in creation

Good morning,

I don’t know if you have been following the science news in the media this week, but they think that they have finally found Higgs boson.  Higgs isn’t a farmer and the boson isn’t a four legged creature.  It has taken years of scientific study and a 10 billion dollar investment that went into building a 17 mile circular tunnel deep underground at the French and Swiss border to find what they are calling the God particle.  It is a super small particle that is supposed to explain the glue that holds things together.  Since these scientists don’t believe the Biblical account of how things were put together, they have had to put years of research and millions of man hours and billions of dollars or Euro’s together to find out how this accidental stuff all got put together to make the universe we live in. They are now pretty sure that they have found it, but they still don’t know how it works.  If only they would read the Bible.  Hebrews 11: 3 says “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”

All this God talk is really an attempt to explain away the God who created all that we can see, so that he could have a perfect, eternal relationship with the people he built into this incredible universe.  Creation isn’t an accident.  It is the creative act of an everlasting God, explained by him in his love letter to us, so that even if we can’t understand the complexity of how it works, we can know why it works the way it does.  God didn’t put legions of angels to work to get the materials together and then fine tune it to keep it working.  Jesus just spoke his creation into being and then all the life forms we know with just a word.  God designed all this around the plan that would make it possible for us to choose to trust him and his love rather than follow the demands of a rebellious sinful nature.  The real God loves to save us, loves to lead us, loves to give us strength and loves to walk beside us as we journey through time on our way to joining him in eternity.  May the Lord grant us the excitement of being able to help people find a living Savior rather than a mysterious boson that knows nothing of love.

Isaiah 40:28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. 29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
