Here we go again!

Good morning,
Here we go again!

It all started in the Garden of Eden.  When Adam and Eve trusted the devil more than their creator, God gave them the first prophecy. Around 2,000 years later the prophet Noah preached for 120 years before the flood. The people didn’t believe him.  About 1,000 years after the flood, the prophet Moses gave the Israelites the guidelines for their king.(Deu.17)  The king after God’s heart, David came about 300 years later.  The people demanded that they get a king. Then many prophets began telling us about God’s plan for the future until about 400 years before Jesus came. When Jesus came just like the prophets said, most of the Bible scholars of their day were sure that the carpenter’s kid could not possibly be the man they were expecting. These “experts” believed the devil’s spin and not the prophets truths. Jesus, while here on the earth, gave us a lot of information about the future. After his death and resurrection, the Apostles from Peter to John all told us truth from God about what God has in mind for us for the rest of time. Since the 2,000 years when the Bible was finished, the excitement and anticipation of the followers of our Savior Jesus has gone up and down and round and round.

Now, here we go again. God told us that the Jews would have their country back some day.  It happened in 1948. There was a lot of excitement then, but since Jesus hasn’t come for us yet, the church as a whole still talks about Jesus, but there is less and less concern about obeying God’s guidelines. Doing things our way is now more important than doing things by our Savior’s loving standards. Now we are living more and more like Adam and Eve. The Apostle Paul warned us that in the last days, people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.(2Tim.3:2) He said a lot more, but then finished his prophecy by saying, They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!(v.5) Jesus himself prophesied, "Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.(Lk.21:10,11) Isn’t it interesting that in just the last couple of months we began to find ourselves being attacked by a virus that is impacting the whole world.  We have never seen anything like this in all of our lives and in written history.  Also, we as Christians are finding ourselves hated and attacked all over the world.

We are also in a very special time in history in a new and wonderful way.  We have also been told that, the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.(Mat.24:14) Just in our lifetime we have gone from a personal and written form of sharing God’s truth to films and television and powerful radio and digital forms of all kinds that make it possible for people to hear and read and see and learn from their phones all over the world as well as seeing and hearing the missionaries that have been involved in person for hundreds and thousands of years. Jesus is coming again. I think that it is going to come very soon. Lord, please help us to be faithful and ready day by day so that we will be ready when you keep your promises that you will never break.

Luke 21:28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!"
