Are we ready for twisted truth?

Adam and Eve were sitting ducks. No one had ever lied to them before.  When the nice shiny snake showed up and told them a fascinating story, it made sense to them. God warned them, but they decided to try the promise he gave them?  Remember he said, “God knows that your eyes will be opened when you eat it. You will become just like God, knowing everything, both good and evil.(Gen.3:5) They got chased from the garden and life went on from bad to worse. People had become corrupt, violent and depraved.  God told Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for the earth is filled with violence because of them.(Gen.6:13) God started life on earth again with a boat load of animals and Noah and his wife and his 3 sons and their wives. Then we fast forward to the next and most important crisis when God sent his Son Jesus to live here on earth with us.  The people around Jesus, who called themselves friends of God, hated everything about him and decided he had to be killed. When Jesus was talking to Pilate he told him, “You say that I am a king, and you are right,” Jesus said. “I was born for that purpose. And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”(John18:37) Pilate responded. “What is truth?”(v.38) Remember that Jesus told his disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.(John14:6) Jesus came and did what only he could do.  As the perfect son of God, he went willingly to the cruel cross, suffered the full weight of our sins, he died willingly and rose victoriously having stripped Satan of his claim on us because of our sins. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.(Rom.3:23,24)

I believe that what is now happening in our country and around the world is a flood of people who are determined to to do their best to control our sin crazed world with their ideas of what is good and what is evil based on their rebellious, hate filled truth that comes from the enemy of our souls.  The love and forgiveness of our Savior and Father God are now being replaced by their own determination to destroy anyone who will not agree with their twisted truth.  The fact that all of us are sinners is an exciting reality that they will use to their own advantage to destroy and control all those who don’t agree with their standards. Even when there are no witnesses to a sin, they will still accuse us of being demonic and destructive. People are becoming slaves of the Hater and feel empowered to carry out his hate filled deeds. The sad part of this process is what Jesus faced when he came here.  People who call themselves friends and followers of God now know how to talk but not how to walk the life of faith and obedience that God requires from his eternal family. We are surrounded by false prophets and teachers who use parts of the Bible to cover up their own sin.  They love to quote the promises of God, but are not about to get in trouble by telling their followers the standards that the Holy Spirit requires if we really will live for and love our God.  The music we sing is basically about us, not our Savior and God, and we expect God to reward us for what we want and not what needs to be done to honor his name.  We are afraid of suffering and being called names and the thought of dying for our Savior terrifies us. However, for those who really are God’s kids he tells us, He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.1Cor.1:8) 

1 Corinthians 1:9 God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
