Perfectly prepared

Good morning,
Perfectly prepared

When did Jesus find out that one day he would be a new born baby?  We all know that human babies are born with very limited information and that it takes years and years to develop information that is accurate and dependable.  What we forget is that on the day that Adam and Eve decided to disobey God’s rule for what was right and wrong in the garden of Eden, Jesus already knew what would have to happen to undo the damage that Satan caused with his cleaver lies. Remember what the Lord said to Eve, From now on, you and the woman will be enemies, and your offspring and her offspring will be enemies. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”(Gen.3:15) God didn’t have to wait for time to pass in order to know what would happen.  Remember what the Psalmist wrote. Before the mountains were created, before you made the earth and the world, you are God, without beginning or end.(Ps.90:2)  At the very ending of the Bible, Jesus said, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”(Rev.22:13) God has always known what would happen in time. All through the Bible, God spoke through the prophets to let us know what we could expect at some point in time.  For example, at least 600 years before Jesus came as a baby, Jesus knew what to expect would happen when he did come. He said, The Sovereign LORD has spoken to me, and I have listened. I give my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pull out my beard. I do not hide from shame, for they mock me and spit in my face.(Isa.50:5,6) The Lord always knew what would be needed to undo Satan’s plan to destroy all of mankind.

Already at 600 years before his birth Jesus knew what would happen and what he would do.  He goes on in saying, Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be dismayed. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will triumph.(Isa.50:7) Jesus always knows what people will do and what he would do and what would happen because he would do what he was told.  Jesus would come with confidence because he knew, See, the Sovereign LORD is on my side! Who will declare me guilty?(v.9)  Jesus also knew about his trial and death, but he also knew, But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins—that he was suffering their punishment? (Isa.53:3) Wonderfully Jesus also knew that, When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied.(Isa.53:11) Jesus wasn’t just going through all of this just for God’s benefit. Because the God of creation genuinely loves each of us perfectly, what Jesus did was, And because of what he has experienced, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.(v.11) So what does all of this mean for us today.  We find ourselves living in a world bubbling with hate and anger.  We find ourselves experiencing some of what Jesus went through when he came to be our Savior.  While at the same time that Jesus was telling us about his part of God’s plan he was also telling us something important about ourselves.  God promises us that, Who among you fears the LORD and obeys his servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the LORD and rely on your God.(Isa.53:10) Thank you Lord Jesus for what you have done for us and are willing to do for us if we are willing to love you and trust you and obey you today.

Isaiah 50:7 Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be dismayed. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will triumph.
