Good morning,
God’s Perfect Outcome
When God created the heavens and the earth he did so with a perfect eternal outcome in mind. When he put the earth together for humans to live on, he gave them everything they would need to live here now and in eternity. God also built a test into his creation for man when, At the center of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.(Gen.2:9) Adam and Eve were warned not to eat from the tree that would give them the knowledge of good and evil, but they were tricked into rebelling against God by Satan. God wanted people to live with them in eternity, but they couldn’t bring their sin into eternity with them. God said, What if they eat the fruit of the tree of life? Then they will live forever!”(Gen.3:22) God chased them out of the garden and away from the tree of life. Right from the beginning of time people have intuitively known that there is more to life than what we call time. The prophet Isaiah wrote, For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!(64:4) But once Jesus came to live with us here on earth, he and the apostles after him gave us a lot more information about what to expect when we live our live here for eternity. The test of eternal life was based on, You trust God, now trust in me.(John14:1) Jesus told his disciples that, There are many rooms in my Father's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. And then, When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.(John 14:2,3) That promise makes it clear that he is preparing a place for us to live with him, that he will come for us at the right time and that we will always stay there with him if we pass the test of living by faith in him.
Once we get there what will Jesus do with us. He will give us white clothes to wear and, I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.(Rev.3:5) We won’t be alone because, I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb.(Rev.7:9) Not only that but, I heard the singing of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and the living beings and the elders.(Rev.5:11) Can you imagine what that will be like when we all begin singing together in perfect harmony and from the very bottom of our hearts? Then when God destroys this earth and makes a new heaven and a new earth, the Apostle John tells us that, “Look, the home of God is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people.(Rev.21:3) He also tells us that there will be no sorrow, death, crying or pain. He also tells us that there will be a river there and, On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month.(Rev.22:2) He also tells us that we will see God, we will always joyfully worship God and that we, will reign forever and ever.(Rev.22:5) The Bible tells us so much more than I can write now, but we can be sure that if we have become one of God’s eternal family, we will celebrate and worship and serve our God whole heartedly for eternity. Even so come, Lord Jesus!
Revelation 22:4 And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. 5 And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
