The perfect Judge

Good morning,
The perfect Judge

Just recently our president has recommended an experienced judge to be a part of our Supreme Court in America.  Both the president and the judge have many enemies because there is one group of our government leaders that want to be in control of our country their way.  They are very angry and are making many serious charges against the judge so they can stay in control of the laws that guide our country.  They want to change the laws of what is right and what is wrong for our people.  These are not the same laws we have had for over 200 years. This battle has made me sad and made me glad at the same time. I am so thankful that the God who has created the earth and will be the judge of all those who live on the earth is in no danger of being controlled by his angry enemies.  Jesus said, -the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, and they will rise again.(John5:28) Jesus, our perfect Judge, also tells us that those who have eternal life and those who have lived evil lives will experience very different outcomes when they face their final Judge.  Jesus tells us that, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.(John5:24)

Paul tells us that, the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone's secret life.(Rom.2:16)  Peter tells us that the Savior that loves us and knows everything about us from the time we were conceived will, judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as temporary residents.(1Pet.1:17) Paul helps us to understand what that means when he writes, on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value.(1Cor.3:13) I believe that this fire is seeing ourselves though God’s eyes with God’s standards. If what we did was done by the power of the Holy Spirit and for his glory, we will receive a reward. Then he tells us, But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.(1Cor.3:15) If what we do is for our benefit and not for God’s glory, there is no reason for God to give us a reward for that.  Paul also explains that, He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.(Rom.2:7) This is all very good news for those of us who have our Judge as our Savior and Lover and Friend and Lord for all the rest of time and the rest of eternity.

What makes me sad is also what the Lord tells us is true for those around us who are controlled by fear and hate and the feeling that they have the right to be in control of all of us as well as all of God’s loving gift of life. God says that, But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself.(Rom.2:5) The Lord God is still in control of all of us and when we turn our backs on him, he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.(Rom.2:8)  We must remember that for us who love God we must, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God.(Rom.12:19) Thank you Lord for your perfect love and your righteous judgement for all the world around us.

Romans 2:16 And this is the message I proclaim–that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone's secret life.
