Good morning,
The Puzzle Master
We have friends and family who love to work on jigsaw puzzles as an enjoyable challenge, but that doesn’t work for me. When God designed me, he included a special feature that leaves me color blind to the red and green colors built everywhere into his beautiful world. I see them as colors, but they look different then what other people see. I have to rely on other people, usually my wife or friends, to tell me what my shirts and socks really look like. I have also discovered that I have the same problem when it comes to seeing and believing what God is up to in my life and in my world. My sin nature has changed what I see so that what the Bible tells me is black and dangerous, looks bright and exciting to me. Also, as I read my Bible, I have discovered that what God requires me to believe is good and right, will seem dark and dangerous and even impossible for me to live out. Paul described this problem when he wrote, Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!(Rom.11:33) God not only knows our colors perfectly, He also knows where the pieces of our lives fit. What’s more he know how our part is important to the people and conditions all around us so that we will really fit in his bigger picture of time and eternity.
We all need to face the fact that none of us really know where we fit in God’s big picture, not only in our life time here, but also in eternity. We only fit in one place, and any advice we try to give him is based on our color blind heart and eyes. We need to remember that God doesn’t owe us anything, it’s us who are here because he gave us life and equipped us to fit into his perfect plan. Again Paul reminds us that, For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory.(v.36) God longs for us to be excited about what he is doing and what is happening to us as we go through his plan for our lives. Giving God the glory means that, - -it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.(Heb.11:6) The challenge with this solution is that what we think that we look like, and where we fit in, and when we will fit in, is based on our color blind approach to the life he has given us. The answer to this problem, is first - - do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!(Heb.10:35) The second part is also needed because, Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.(v.36) With the help of God’s Holy Spirit we can be willing pieces of God’s eternal plan. Whether we think we fit or don’t fit, whether we are dealing with troubles big or small, the Bible tells us, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.(2Cor.4:18) Thank you Lord, for including us in your perfect eternal puzzle.
Romans 11:33 Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! 34 For who can know the LORD's thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice?
