Jesus is . . .

Good morning,
Jesus is . . .
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.(Isaiah 9:6)

Jesus - To the people around him, he came as a baby, he grew up as a peasant, as an adult he became famous as a healer and an authoritative teacher.  To the religious community, he became a hated treat to their power, and to the unseen demons, he was a powerful controller who must be obeyed.  To God the Father, Jesus was the creator of our world and the answer to the sin and rebellion that stood between him and those he had created in love. Jesus’ sacrifice would pay the debt that was owed. To Jesus, the Holy Spirit would be the source of strength and control that would make his earthly ministry perfect and all those in God’s family one with the Lord God Almighty, and we who would live on together with the Godhead for all of eternity.

Jesus is- to me
The One who knew me and chose me before time began
The Creator who spoke our world into place
The Lover who knew what a sinner I would be
The Willing Sacrifice who succeeded in paying the full price for all our sins
The Willing Savior who heard my request and saved my soul
The Good Shepherd who has patiently and skillfully lead me through so many pastures
The Perfect Planner who has finished plans for every day of my life here on earth
The Perfect Teacher who knew how to guide my mind and heart
The Perfect Physician who has kept me alive and well for so many years
The Perfect Author who has given us his written Word now in my language
The Gracious Friend who is always with me no matter how I feel
The Willing Forgiver when I honestly confess and repent of my many sins
The Perfect Judge who knows everything I have done, and what has been done to me
The Perfect builder who is preparing a place and a ministry for me in eternity
And there is still so much more than I have written here

Jesus is - to you

Isaiah 25:9 In that day the people will proclaim, "This is our God! We trusted in him, and he saved us! This is the LORD, in whom we trusted. Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings!”
