Good morning,
For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.
Ps. 5:12
God never makes a mistake when he chooses a man or a woman to be a part of his family. God never makes a mistake when he assigns a man or a woman to carry out his plans in their part of his work in our world. God never makes a mistake when he gives his chosen children the parents and the background they need that will equip them to minister to those who need a human example of the God that cannot be seen. God never makes a mistake when he assigns his kids the physical and spiritual gifts that they will need to accomplish his eternal plan for their lives. God never makes a mistake when he decides when and where we would be born and where we would live during each day and each stage of our lives here on earth. God never makes a mistake when he plans the circumstances of our lives that will strengthen us, build us, crush us and cause us to live completely out of our comfort zones. God alone is the one who chooses the kind of responsibility we will have, with many or a few. Our God is our Heavenly Father, our Lover, our Savior, our Good Shepherd and a Friend and Holy Helper who stays closer than any brother ever could.
Last week I wrote about the man Moses whose first response to God’s call was “I can’t do it”, and he was very right. There is no way anyone could lead a million hardened slaves out of their slavery by their own human strength. Why would God choose someone so afraid to do such an important work? Moses had to learn that it was God’s strength and God’s plan that would carry out this impossible journey for a people that is still ongoing to this very day, thousands of years later. It was God who chose a young shepherd to kill the giant and begin his pain filled journey through the training he needed to become the great king, David, who would be the human ancestor of Jesus, the Son of God and the Savior of the world. It was Jesus who chose a proud fisherman with very strong opinions about how things should be done to become the leader of the infant Church after he had made a complete fool of himself. Jesus knew who Peter was. Jesus knows who each of us are as well. Each of us are here as a divine appointment made by a perfect God. May we learn like Moses and all the saints who have come before us to praise and exalt our Awesome Lord. Lord please help us to remember that you are not only a lover, you are also a warrior who will never lose a battle in time or in eternity.
Exodus 15: 2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him! 3 The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name.
