Good morning,
History
is really God’s story, planned before time began, that will be folded
back into eternity when His Story of this universe is finished. Their
planning sessions, that is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy
Spirit, must have been filled with dynamic creativity. They carefully
developed the awesomeness of what we call space as well as the smallest
building blocks of life and the finest details of how everything would
work out for each living part of this incredible, perfect plan. At some
point the Father must have said, “The plan is finished. Now lets begin
what we have planned.” God tells us that “ the morning stars sang
together and all the angels shouted for joy.” (Job 38:7) There is
nothing in God’s plan that has been left to chance.
Somewhere
near the middle of God’s plan there was a prophet named Isaiah who was
given the honor of actually seeing God sitting on his throne.(Isaiah
6:1) God commissioned him to speak for him and write out what God
wanted people to know in more detail about his plans for those living in
his days and for all the days that would follow. It was Isaiah’s
prophetic writings that made it clear that God would send his son,
Emanuel, to suffer and die to pay for the sins of the people who would
choose to trust and obey their creator God.(Isaiah 53) Isaiah was very
clear in his writing that there was no other God in control of this
creation. Isaiah looked back in awe at what God had done and looked
ahead in time to what he was yet to do. He knew The Lord. He honored
and praised his name for who he was and all that he would do.
All
through time God had chosen prophets to let us know what to expect God
would be doing in the succeeding generations. As we read through the
Bible, we find ourselves flooded with facts about what God will be doing
in time that will carry over into an eternity of life with our creator
God. I am so thankful that God has given us enough detail about the
next stages in history that we can know for sure that we are now living
at the edge of time when Jesus, God’s son and our Savior, will be coming
back to earth again. This time he is coming as the ruling king. First
he came as our Creator, then he came as our Savior, but now he is
coming back to rule this unruly creation as King and Lord of all. Now
we can say like Isaiah, “You planned this long ago, and now you will
accomplish the rest of your plans as surely as you have done for the
rest of Your Story.”
Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, I will honor
and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things!
You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.
