God's trustworthy words

Good morning,

Did you know that it is dangerous to have your children one right after another?  Did you hear that many pastors are warning people not to pray for patience because if they do, God is sure to send them all kinds of trouble?    We are surrounded by all kinds of warnings and words that are designed to get us to respond in fear to the challenges of life in a self centered way.  Our Enemy loves to keep us running in fear as though the outcomes of life depend on how we handle these fearful challenges.  If we can be kept busy looking out for ourselves, we will have little time or interest in following the God we can’t see who requires us to trust him instead of protecting our own interests.  The Psalmist had it right when he wrote, For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.  God uses words that are eternally true to help us hang on to him while he leads us through the the dangers and challenges of life.

God longs for us to spend time reading his words in his Word in order to begin understanding who God is and how he has developed his plan for our lives.  God really does love us and longs to lead us through a life that will be focused on doing what is just and good.  He has designed the daily plan for our lives that includes all the challenges of our lives. While the Devil wants us to be afraid, God wants us to show the world real patience, patience that is energized by his Holy Spirit.  Patience and the rest of the fruits of the Spirit are given to God’s kids to demonstrate the love of God that is more powerful than any other force on earth.  If the God of the Bible was so powerful that he could just speak a word and suddenly the heavens and the earth were formed in all their beauty and complexity, is there anything that we might face today or tomorrow that will be too hard for God to control? It’s really true, there is nothing too hard for our Father God.

Oh, buy the way, someone has decided that it’s dangerous to have children one right after the other because it’s such a strain on your budget to get them through college when they are so close together.

Psalm 33:4 For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does.  5 He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.  6 The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born.
